Lew Hollander could be the most athletically gifted 82 year old endurance athlete in the world.
On Saturday, Hollander became the oldest finisher in the history of the Ironman World Championship. The Oregon resident broke his own record from last year's Hawaii Ironman. Hollander completed the 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run in 16:40:46.
He took second in the 80+ age group with Japanese triathlete, Hiromu Inada, winning the age group in a stunning time of 15:38:25. This was Hollander's amazing 23rd Ironman World Championship that he has competed in.
